My business engages and interacts often given the time constraints of my clients.   I’m often interacting on my clients behalf more than for my business.   I DM followers and respond to DM’s, @mention on Twitter; interact, post and email connections on Linked In;  post and comment on Facebook, I also ask and respond to questions.  Social Media is threaded in technology, automation should be fresh, content should encourage actions such as buy, click here etc.

If you are on Social Media, with very few Twitter followers, very few Facebook fans, very few Linked In connections and no interaction may I suggest you begin to interact, engage and draw out interactive dialogue.  Take time to initiate the interactive dialogue with a course of action to be an effective co-creation of value for you or your business.

Interactive dialogue is fluid, it peaks curiosity, it is a back and forth exchange or a connection with someone. Dialogue is easy, just start a simple conversation, connect with a common interest, use humor. Do not be shy, be open, be yourself, engage, converse and connect. Be comfortable in the role and create engaging dialogues.

    Very good advice! Social media is just that…social! You cannot be social sitting by yourself in the corner with no friends, fans, followers, or connections. Engaging people is the key, like you said. Retweet and reshare their messages, comment on them, throw an idea back at the person. There is a good possibility that you might even make some “real” friends along the way too!
