We are all connected in some way.
The idea that everone is at most six steps away from any other person on Earth is relevant. This idea directly and indirectly most certaintly influences most social networks.
Who is in your direct and indirect network? Engaging direct contacts frequently is a top priority of my business. The indirect network is engaged via tweets, posts and updates. Seeking connections and reading resulting comments, retweets and posts is wonderful. That is what certain social media interaction is about. Keep your direct contacts engaged, it’s relatively only six degrees away from everyone else.
A social network must be maintained via interaction because we rely on it. We all sell something, share and seek information. Treat users of the network with respect, don’t yell (that’s using all CAPITAL letters), be factual, truthful and take the high road. When drama inevitably happens or controversy appears take care. Be funny, insightful and complimentary. I smile when I engage the network, that overall positive vibe from a smile is conveyed in my message.
The nicenees and courtesy applied when networking is remembered. The opposite is not forgotten. The gossip repeated is gossip, that’s not a good idea. The sale you seek could be six, five or two degrees away afterall.
Do you consider your Network and how it is engaged and think about the interaction necessary to maintain relationships? Are you satisfied? Seek out assistance if you are not.
